Makan Guru is a map of the food in Malaysia worth queuing for — sit-down restaurants and street-food stalls, every entry rated ★4.5 or higher on Google. No paid placements, no inflated rankings, no listicle padding.

The ★4.5 floor

The whole point is the rating threshold. If a spot drops below ★4.5 between data refreshes, it gets pulled from the map. New additions only land if they meet the floor with a meaningful number of reviews — a ★5.0 from 3 reviewers doesn't count.

How the data is sourced

Listings are compiled from the Google Places API and curated by hand. Ratings and hours come directly from Google and are refreshed periodically — they may be out of date between refreshes. Please verify details with the place before making a special trip.
